About Fungal Genera

Fungal genera provides data on the genera of the fungi. The aim of this webpage is to provide basic data on all genera of fungi with appropriate links. We will also provide data on each genus such as plates and recent notes concerning placement and status. This includes listing the type species, synonyms, estimated species numbers, holomorph details, life modes, habitats and distributions. The data will also provide links to important references, Index Fungorum, MycoBank, herbaria, GenBank numbers for sequence data of type species, as well as links to other websites treating the genera. Our ultimate goal is to provide data and links to data for all genera of fungi.

The webpage is based on the recent publication of Wijayawardene et al. (2017) and will be continually updated as new information becomes available. At the present time we are in a process of data entry and are checking the quality of data. If you note any discrepancies please inform the head curator.
